Custom Molded Pulp Packaging and Trays

Custom molded pulp packaging can take the form of an open tray, a fitted insert inside an outer box, or a formed box with a separate lid. HC Packaging develops these formats around the packed item. Start with product dimensions, weight and handling needs; then review cavity layout, fiber specification and tooling. Standard MOQ for molded pulp, bagasse and molded fiber packaging is 10,000 pcs.

Customization guide

Applications Watch, skincare, headphone and razor examples show different cavity layouts. Use them to explain the item you need to pack, its orientation and how it will be removed. Similar appearance alone does not establish the fit or protective performance of a new design.

Structures

Choose an insert when the molded part will sit inside a separate outer box. Review an open tray when access and product arrangement are the main requirements. Consider a formed box with a separate lid when the molded body itself is the pack. Compare cavity clearance, support points, finger access and outer-box space before choosing tooling.

Materials

HC Packaging supports molded pulp, bagasse and bamboo-fiber packaging. These are material options across the manufacturing network, not interchangeable specifications for every product. Confirm the fiber composition and any coating or additive for the selected design. A material name alone does not establish suitability for food contact, recycling or composting.

Printing & finishing

Wet-press examples are available in this collection. Review the required surface appearance and geometry together with the selected fiber and tool. Define any color or further treatment in the project specification; do not use the finish of one example as a promise for every tray.

Inserts & protection

Provide the actual product dimensions and weight, intended support points, removal direction and the available inside space of the outer box. Include any fragile areas that must remain clear. Use a fitted sample to review loading, movement, removal and lid clearance before approving the specification.

Manufacturing support

Manufacturing for molded paper pulp

HC Packaging's Vietnam affiliated molded-pulp factory supports molded pulp, bagasse and bamboo-fiber protective packaging. Material, tooling and the actual manufacturing site are confirmed during quoting. Group references are 24–48 hours for samples and typically 2–5 weeks for production; custom tooling, design complexity, order quantity and scheduling require a project-specific plan.

Before you request a quote

An insert supports an item inside another pack. A lidded molded box combines a formed body with a separate lid. Choose around the intended opening, support and outer-pack arrangement; the product pages show individual construction examples.

Send a dimensioned drawing or item photos with measurements, weight, quantity and delivery destination. Add the outer-box inside dimensions, support and clearance needs, and any fiber preference so fit and tooling can be reviewed together.

Provide the dimensions and arrangement of every variant. Shared cavities, clearance and support need a fit review; a similar product shape does not confirm that one tool will suit all variants.

The standard MOQ is 10,000 pcs for molded pulp, bagasse and molded fiber packaging, including molded parts used in cosmetic or food applications. A separately confirmed product exception can override this category rule.

Use 24–48 hours for samples and typically 2–5 weeks for production as group references. Confirm the tooling and sampling scope, any revisions and the production schedule for the actual design; these references are not an end-to-end delivery promise.
