Colored bagasse trays: reviewing appearance and material suitability

An orange or otherwise colored bagasse tray should be reviewed as a finished construction. Specify the desired appearance and application together, then assess the color treatment, coatings and fiber specification for that use.

Color and application review

Approve the selected color on a physical sample rather than assuming a screen image represents the final shade. Ask how the color and any coating form part of the supplied tray specification.

For food use or an environmental claim, request documentation appropriate to the finished tray and intended conditions. Color and fiber appearance do not establish those properties.
